Validity

LEGO gift cards and e-Gift Cards do not expire and carry no fees, except where the law requires otherwise.

How to redeem

  1. Use the genuine national LEGO Gift Card number and PIN in the gift-card payment fields on the supported LEGO.com site; apply the card before completing payment.
  2. Keep any unused balance on the same card credential for a later eligible purchase. If the basket exceeds the balance, another valid payment method is required; partial invoice payment and combining with PayPal are excluded.
  3. For an eligible LEGO Store purchase, present the physical card or electronic-card image. Telephone ordering requires the 19-digit number and PIN.

Which LEGO card should I buy?

Buy the card for the LEGO.com country where the recipient orders: a UK card also covers Ireland and a Swedish card also covers Denmark, but a German card will not pay on LEGO.com France. The balance is issued in the currency of the buying country; where a card covers two countries (UK and Ireland, Sweden and Denmark), LEGO converts at a market rate and keeps any remainder in the card's original currency.

Choose a contribution before choosing a set

The American purchase page lets a sender enter an amount between USD 10 and USD 500, using multiples of USD 5. A contribution of USD 35 therefore fits the published input, while USD 37 does not. These examples explain that particular form; they do not reserve either amount from this service. There is no need to translate the range into dozens of supposed preset buttons. Think about the contribution you want to make before the recipient chooses a set, because a monetary gift neither sets a product price nor holds an item for later.

A documented border crossing, with currency consequences

The US FAQ expressly includes cards purchased in the United States or Canada and spending through the two countries’ LEGO websites or LEGO Stores. That is a specific regional permission. A purchase made in Canada is charged in Canadian currency and converted at a market rate, while leftover value remains in the card’s original currency. Someone taking an American gift across the border should consequently check the actual converted balance instead of treating one US dollar as one Canadian dollar.

LEGO merchandise is different from admission or a reseller basket

The card buys eligible merchandise through the named LEGO channels. A shop carrying LEGO products is not automatically part of that programme: third-party retailers, LEGOLAND parks and Discovery Centers are excluded by the card rules. A family choosing between a construction set and an attraction visit should settle that distinction before relying on the gift. Admission and spending at a branded destination may have their own arrangements.

Use the credential that carries the balance

At the supported online checkout, choose gift-card payment and enter the genuine number and PIN. Apply the gift before completing the purchase. Telephone redemption uses the 19-digit number and PIN; a participating store can process the physical card or an image of the electronic gift. Printing the message gives the recipient something to present, rather than creating extra credit. Keep the original details accessible after a small purchase, because the same credential will be needed to retrieve and spend what remains.

A shortfall and three-card limit are separate checks

Up to three gift cards can be applied to an eligible order. For example, two legitimate balances of USD 40 and USD 25 total USD 65; neither that sum nor the count confirms a future basket’s eligibility. If the order costs more than the available gift funds, another accepted payment method must cover the difference. The FAQ rules out combining the gift with PayPal and does not allow partial payment by invoice. Plan the additional tender before reaching the final payment screen, especially when several relatives contribute gifts.

Unused money has no ordinary countdown

The national rules include both the gift and its unspent portions in the no-expiration statement, retaining an exception where the law requires it. They also state that no fees are applied. These clauses do not supply a purchase anniversary or a period that resets whenever the card is used. They do not freeze the price of the recipient’s chosen model either. Waiting to select a set can therefore be different from waiting for a particular product: the gift’s documented validity does not promise that a model, promotion or delivery arrangement will remain available.

Loyalty follows the merchandise purchase

Buying the gift itself does not earn LEGO Insiders points. An eligible product purchase funded by the card can earn points under the loyalty programme. This distinction matters when a sender and recipient have different accounts: giving the money does not automatically give the sender the recipient’s eventual loyalty benefit. Nor does a point balance become another dollar balance with a fixed conversion established here. Keep the gift credential, the merchandise order and any loyalty account as separate records when planning who will make the final purchase.

Returning a set does not make the gift cash

The US card rules exclude returning the gift or exchanging it for cash, except where law requires otherwise. A refund for merchandise bought with gift funds is issued as LEGO gift-card value. That is a different outcome from recovering the original purchase payment for an unused gift. Save the merchandise receipt if a recipient may need a return, and protect the card details even after spending most of the balance. The terms also place limits on responsibility for lost, stolen, destroyed or undelivered credentials; the programme description does not verify the condition of an individual offered code.

More questions about this card

Can a US LEGO card be used in Canada?

The US FAQ explicitly permits it through the US/Canadian LEGO sites and stores. Spending uses a market-rate currency conversion; this is not a one-for-one dollar exchange.

Can a returned set produce a cash refund?

The gift FAQ describes merchandise refunds as LEGO gift-card value. The separate card cash-exchange exclusion retains exceptions required by law.
