Which gift cards had the biggest markups?

Small Steam and Netflix cards carried the largest markups. Observed at CoinGate on 14 October 2026, a US$20 Steam card cost US$22.20 (+11.00%). A US$15 Netflix card cost US$16.50 (+10.00%). Apple US came next, observed at Bitrefill: US$26.91 for a US$25 card (+7.64%).

Amazon cards sat near +5%: US$52.50 at Bitrefill and US$52.23 at CoinGate for a US$50 card. Google Play and PlayStation were the least expensive cards to buy. Bitrefill sold both at face value, and CoinGate promotions put them 0.92% and 3.00% below it.

What does a markup cost in dollars?

A markup is paid on top of the card value, before any network fee. On the 14 October 2026 prices:

  • +11.00% on a US$20 Steam card = US$2.20 extra.
  • +7.64% on a US$25 Apple card = US$1.91 extra.
  • +5.00% on a US$50 Amazon card = US$2.50 extra.

At Gifts With Crypto the extra is US$0.00, because the price is the face value. You still pay your wallet's network fee. Our network fee table compares it by coin.

Why is Cryptorefills not in the index?

Cryptorefills quoted its prices in USDT, not in US dollars, so its rows stay outside the index. Its public catalogue returned USDT on the Ethereum network on 14 October 2026. Counting 1 USDT as US$1, its five quotes ran from +0.52% to +12.95%. PlayStation US$50 was 50.26 USDT; Steam US$20 was 22.59 USDT. Every quote is in the CSV, in its own columns.

Fee index questions

How much do crypto gift card sellers charge above face value?

On 14 October 2026, prices ran from 3.00% below to 11.00% above face value, with a median of +4.46% across 11 comparable prices. Six prices were above face value, three were at face value and two were promotions below it. Gifts With Crypto charges 0% on every card.

Which seller was least expensive in the index?

No seller was least expensive on every card. CoinGate had the two lowest prices (PlayStation −3.00%, Google Play −0.92%) and the two highest (Steam +11.00%, Netflix +10.00%). Bitrefill and Piggy Cards matched face value on some cards. Gifts With Crypto prices every card at face value, by policy.

Are network fees included in the markup?

No. The index compares the card price with its face value only. Every buyer also pays the network fee of the coin they send, at any seller. Fees differ widely by network, so check the network fee table before you pay. Gifts With Crypto adds no markup to the card.

Why are Coinsbee and Jour Cards missing from the index?

They were not part of the 14 October 2026 basket of ten sellers. Their limits, coins and delivery times, read on their official pages on 21 October 2026, are on our Coinsbee and Jour Cards comparison pages.

How often is the fee index updated?

The index is dated, not live. Each check is published as a new file with its date in the name. The next check is planned before 28 November 2026.

Can I cite these numbers?

Yes, under CC BY 4.0. Quote the figure with its date.
