How to redeem
- Use the genuine national LEGO Gift Card number and PIN in the gift-card payment fields on the supported LEGO.com site; apply the card before completing payment.
- Keep any unused balance on the same card credential for a later eligible purchase. If the basket exceeds the balance, another valid payment method is required; partial invoice payment and combining with PayPal are excluded.
- For an eligible LEGO Store purchase, present the physical card or electronic-card image. Telephone ordering requires the 19-digit number and PIN.
Which Lego card should I buy?
Buy the card for the LEGO.com country where the recipient orders: a UK card also covers Ireland and a Swedish card also covers Denmark, but a German card will not pay on LEGO.com France. The balance is issued in the currency of the buying country; where a card covers two countries (UK and Ireland, Sweden and Denmark), LEGO converts at a market rate and keeps any remainder in the card's original currency.
Start with the French input, not another euro page
France’s purchase form displays a minimum of EUR 10, a maximum of EUR 150 and an increment of EUR 5. A gift of EUR 80 fits those input conditions; EUR 82 does not. These are actual published purchase rules rather than a list of supposedly fixed cards. Matching euro currency on a German, Spanish or Italian listing does not make its amount ceiling or territory interchangeable. Someone contributing toward a French recipient’s set should identify the French programme first, then decide the contribution within its stated input.
Certified Stores are an important French exception
The national FAQ directs customers to participating LEGO Stores in France and explicitly excludes the Certified Stores or franchised locations marked in the directory. A recognisable sign or a display of LEGO products is consequently insufficient to establish acceptance. Before giving a gift for a planned shopping trip, check the selected shop’s classification through the official directory with France selected. This avoids promising that an electronic gift can pay at whichever branded outlet happens to be nearest. LEGOLAND, Discovery Centres and third-party shops are separate exclusions.
Issuing and spending are tied to the French programme
The French terms distinguish cards issued through French LEGO retail stores from the online gifts issued by LEGO System A/S. They also say that the card can be used only in the country where it was purchased. The named routes are the French LEGO website, telephone purchases and participating local stores.
Apply the card before finishing the order
For online use, enter the genuine 19-digit number and PIN in the gift-card area and use the apply control before completing payment. The French instructions describe a four-digit PIN on a physical card. An electronic message identifies the same underlying gift account, rather than a fresh account each time it is printed. Store redemption requires presenting the card or electronic image and the necessary credential. Keep a copy safely after first use so a recipient can recover the remaining balance without depending on a discarded printed message.
Buying in five-euro steps does not round the remainder
If a genuine EUR 50 gift contributes to an eligible EUR 36 purchase, EUR 14 remains. This example is a balance calculation, not a set price or a seller offer. The purchase increment controls the initial amount entered in the gift form; it does not force later product charges or residue into the same increment. The French terms say unused funds remain available for a later purchase and are not transferable. Keeping them on the original card is therefore different from asking to move an odd balance to another gift.
Three gifts and an additional payment method
The French FAQ permits up to three cards for one eligible order through the described channels. A shortfall needs another valid tender, with PayPal combination and partial invoice payment excluded. Check that the recipient can use an acceptable additional method before choosing a gift that covers only part of the intended basket. Conversely, contributing more than the first basket requires does not force the recipient to spend everything immediately. Retained credit, accepted split payment and a maximum number of cards are separate conditions to work through.
A lasting balance and a later loyalty transaction
The French no-expiration clause explicitly covers unspent portions and retains exceptions required by law. The FAQ also states that no card fees are applied. Neither clause holds a particular set, price or reward offer for the recipient. Buying the gift itself does not earn LEGO Insiders points, while an eligible merchandise purchase with it can earn points under the programme. That timing helps distinguish the giver’s contribution from the recipient’s shopping account and eventual reward.
Preserve the qualifications around returning a gift
The French rules restrict returns and cash exchange while preserving applicable withdrawal rights for distance or off-premises purchases. The FAQ refers online purchases to the general conditions and gives a separate rule for store-bought cards. Those clauses do not justify promising every purchaser the same cancellation period, irrespective of where or how the gift was acquired. Returning merchandise bought with gift funds is another question: the described refund is LEGO gift value. Retain the purchase receipt and the later merchandise order so the relevant request can be distinguished.

More questions about this card
Can I spend the French card at a LEGO Certified Store?
The national FAQ excludes the Certified/franchised stores marked in the French directory. Confirm the exact participating location before planning an in-store purchase.
Does an EUR 14 remainder become unusable?
The five-euro increment concerns the purchase input. Unused value remains attached to the existing gift, subject to the programme’s payment rules.
Is there an unconditional unused-card refund?
The terms restrict cash exchange and returns while preserving applicable distance/off-premises rights.
