How to redeem
- Use the genuine national LEGO Gift Card number and PIN in the gift-card payment fields on the supported LEGO.com site; apply the card before completing payment.
- Keep any unused balance on the same card credential for a later eligible purchase. If the basket exceeds the balance, another valid payment method is required; partial invoice payment and combining with PayPal are excluded.
- For an eligible LEGO Store purchase, present the physical card or electronic-card image. Telephone ordering requires the 19-digit number and PIN.
Which Lego card should I buy?
Buy the card for the LEGO.com country where the recipient orders: a UK card also covers Ireland and a Swedish card also covers Denmark, but a German card will not pay on LEGO.com France. The balance is issued in the currency of the buying country; where a card covers two countries (UK and Ireland, Sweden and Denmark), LEGO converts at a market rate and keeps any remainder in the card's original currency.
A pound contribution with a printed increment
The British form does more than give a minimum and maximum: it says entered values must be multiples of five. Within GBP 10–500, GBP 45 is consequently consistent with that input, while GBP 46 is not. The form also shows a physical-card tab, but merely seeing that tab does not independently establish its full selection. Keep the gift’s native pound value clear when presenting a contribution rather than a particular LEGO set.
Ireland is part of this programme’s stated territory
The UK FAQ and rules expressly include the United Kingdom and Ireland. They name the regional LEGO websites and stores, and the FAQ describes telephone ordering in the UK. That scope is more precise than assuming every LEGO gift works wherever the brand trades. Cross-currency spending is converted at a market rate, with remaining value held in the original currency. A recipient intending to redeem a pound gift on the Irish route should check the actual conversion and eligible basket instead of treating the printed pound figure as an identical euro amount.
Keep the issuer route distinct from other branded venues
UK store-bought or selected-retailer prepaid cards are associated in the rules with LEGO Company Limited, while the online gift programme names LEGO System A/S. Both sit within the stated UK/Irish programme rather than an unrestricted shopping network. LEGOLAND parks, Discovery Centres and independent retailers are excluded. A family day out and a merchandise purchase may therefore require different gifts even when both plans involve LEGO. Check the intended destination before choosing which contribution to give.
Pay online, by telephone or at an eligible store
Use the actual card number and PIN at the supported LEGO payment stage and apply the credit before completing the order. The phone route uses a 19-digit number and PIN. For a store purchase, present the card or an electronic-card image to the sales associate. These are routes to the same underlying gift funds, not three separate balances. If the recipient prefers a tangible present, printing an electronic message provides something to hand over, but retaining or forwarding another copy does not increase the amount that can be spent.
Work out which funds should pay the basket
The national FAQ allows as many as three cards on one eligible order across the described channels. As a simple pound example, GBP 30 plus GBP 20 can contribute GBP 50, assuming the gifts are genuine and the purchase is eligible. Any excess basket cost needs another valid payment method. The FAQ excludes a PayPal combination and partial payment by invoice, so choosing an additional tender is part of the purchase plan. Unused credit is retained under the card details; it does not have to be consumed merely because the recipient starts a first order.
No ordinary expiry does not preserve an offer
The card rules state no expiration for the gift or unused portions, except where law requires otherwise, and the FAQ says no fees are applied. They do not keep a product in production, preserve a sale price or reserve an allocation of a popular set. Someone waiting for a birthday can hold the contribution without inventing an annual gift deadline, while still checking the merchandise options when ready. No account-residence or recipient age condition is established merely by the online purchaser’s separate adult requirement.
Buying the gift and earning points happen at different stages
The UK terms distinguish a gift purchase from the later product purchase. Buying the card does not earn Insiders points; eligible spending with it can do so under the reward rules, and the terms also exclude buying the gift with Insiders points. This matters when a recipient is selecting a model for their own account while someone else funds the gift. The gift money is a contribution to that future transaction. It is not itself a transfer of an existing reward balance, a voucher for a specified points award or a guarantee of an additional promotion.
Cancellation depends on how the gift was acquired
The FAQ refers gifts bought on LEGO.com to the general withdrawal conditions. It separately says cards bought in a LEGO Store cannot be returned except where required by law. The detailed card rules also restrict cash exchange. Those statements should be kept together, rather than turned into an unconditional cancellation promise with an invented deadline. A returned merchandise item is another situation: the FAQ says its refund is provided as gift-card value. Keep the original purchase route and the merchandise receipt available so the correct request can be identified.
