Which Amazon card should I buy?

Buy the card for the Amazon store the recipient actually shops on, in that store's currency: Amazon.com in USD, Amazon.co.uk in GBP, Amazon.de or Amazon.fr in EUR. A redeemed balance can never move to another country's store. An Amazon gift card loads as gift card balance in the issuing store's own currency, and that balance cannot be moved or converted to an Amazon store in another country.

An Italian gift begins with the corresponding marketplace

Italian Amazon Pay help assigns Amazon gift cards to eligible products on their corresponding national website, including Amazon.it. The site designation matters independently of the euro amount. An Italian present and a French present may use the same monetary unit while requiring different issuer instruments and conditions. Keep Amazon.it in the product description instead of reducing the comparison to EUR.

A September 2026 corporate announcement lists Amazon.it gift cards among purchase payment methods, then describes BANCOMAT Pay as an option available for purchases and Prime enrolment. That wording does not clearly assign the membership use to gift cards. A sender planning a membership present should obtain the applicable current terms first. Monetary value and a period of membership are also different formats: neither a monthly nor an annual entitlement can be calculated from a gift-card price or from appearing in the same payment list.

The Italian Amazon Pay route excludes these gift cards

The same national help says Amazon gift cards cannot fund outside merchants’ orders through Amazon Pay. Seeing an Amazon payment button on another shop therefore does not mean Amazon.it gift value is accepted there. The presence of a shared account sign-in can hide the difference between the national marketplace and an external checkout service. A foreign article describing broader Amazon Pay balance use cannot replace the Italian help simply because both systems use the Amazon name.

A cash-order refund is not a newly purchased code

Amazon Italy’s March 2026 Paga in Contanti article explains that refunds for returned merchandise originally paid in cash are issued as Amazon.it gift-card balance. That statement concerns a specific refund destination after a merchandise transaction. It does not say that a recipient can reverse a paid gift card into cash, choose the same treatment for every return or receive a fresh transferable code. Someone reviewing their account may see balance that originated from a refund rather than from a present. Retain the underlying order record so the origin and conditions of that credit can be identified before treating it as an ordinary purchased gift.

The seventy-two-hour window belongs to paying an order

The cash-payment article describes an order barcode and unique code that must be presented at an authorised payment location within seventy-two hours. That deadline governs paying the merchandise order. It is neither a gift-card expiry period nor proof of how long refund balance remains usable. Confusing the two could make a holder think existing credit is about to disappear when the article is describing an unpaid order. Keep payment deadlines with their original transaction.

No Italian ordering menu was established

A €25 budget therefore remains an intention rather than a confirmed face value that can be supplied. The API’s general ten-year EU statement also lacks a starting event and an exact retail product connection here.

Keep card value, refund balance and promotions apart

The Italian announcements discuss ordinary payment methods alongside time-limited discounts and competitions. A minimum-spend coupon, a prize amount and a gift-card face value can all be printed in euros without representing the same entitlement. For example, a campaign’s discount on an order does not add that amount to a recipient’s gift balance. Equally, a refund destination tells the holder where value is returned, not what new card they can purchase. When comparing offers, identify the source of the credit and its conditions before doing arithmetic.

A future Italian offer should close the format gap

That would allow an offered amount and expiry rule to be checked directly, including the event from which any period runs. They do not supply a current denomination menu or commercial distribution authority. No stock, successful redemption or operational capacity is implied by the fact that the programme appears in official Italian news.
