Quick answer
On the Sephora checkout page, enter the 16-digit gift card number and 8-digit PIN in the Payment section, then hit Save & Continue. The amount comes off your order total, and any rest stays on the card. Sephora's US guide is at sephora.com/beauty/faqs-gift-cards. US and Canadian cards work in both countries, but never on Sephora's other international sites.
Redeem a Sephora gift card step by step
Reveal the numbers
On a physical card, scratch off the foil on the back with a coin, leaving the clear sticker tape in place. An eGift card lists the number and PIN at the bottom.
Shop the right site
Use sephora.com, sephora.ca or the Sephora app for a North American card. A German card belongs on sephora.de or the Sephora app.
Open Payment at checkout
In the Payment section of the Checkout page, enter the 16-digit gift card number and 8-digit PIN.
Save & Continue
Hit Save & Continue in the lower right of the Payment area. The deducted amount shows on the right side of the page.
Settle the difference
If tax and shipping push the total above the card value, pay the rest by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or another listed method.
Does a Sephora gift card balance stay on the card?
Yes. If your order costs less than the card, the balance remains on the card for a future purchase. It is not moved into your account, so keep the number and PIN.
Signed-in US shoppers can check the balance under Payments & Credits on the Account Information page. You can also call 1-888-860-7897, ask a Beauty Advisor in a US or Canadian store, or add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Pay.
Sephora warns against checking balances on third-party sites, which are likely scams. Any online credit already on your account is applied before the gift card.
Where does my Sephora gift card work?
It depends on the issuing country. US cards are issued by LGCS Inc. and redeem in US and Canadian Sephora stores, on sephora.com and sephora.ca, and in the app. They also work in Sephora at Kohl's stores, though not on kohls.com. Crossing the border, the daily exchange rate sets the value.
German cards stay in Germany: Sephora stores, sephora.de and the Sephora app, except the corners inside Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. French e-cards cover France, Luxembourg and Monaco. Australian, Swedish and Danish cards also stay in their own country.
What if my Sephora code does not work?
First check how many cards you are using. Sephora allows up to two gift cards or eGift cards per online order; for more, visit a store. Store merchandise credits have no PIN and cannot be used online at all.
If checkout still asks for a credit card, the card probably does not cover tax and shipping. A balance can also lag after a recent purchase, since Sephora calls the figure an estimate. A US card will not redeem on an international Sephora website.
For gift card problems, call Sephora on 1-888-860-7897, listed on its gift card FAQ page. For a code from Gifts With Crypto, reply to [email protected] with your order number.
Frequently asked questions
Do Sephora gift cards expire?
Not in the US or Canada, where no fees apply either. German, Swedish, Danish and Australian cards are valid for three years. French e-cards last one year from receipt by email.
Can I add money to a Sephora eGift card?
No. Sephora only adds funds to physical cards bought from Sephora, and only in a Sephora store. eGift cards and cards from other retailers cannot be reloaded.
Can I use a German Sephora card for beauty services?
Yes. Sephora Germany says its gift card pays for products and beauty services, and one card can be spent over several purchases.
Can I pay for a Sephora gift card in crypto?
Yes. Orders up to US$1,000 need no KYC. The 16-digit number and PIN are delivered to your account within 24 hours of payment confirmation.
