Redeem a bol.com gift card step by step
Fill your basket
Add the products you want to your shopping basket on bol.com.
Go to Betalen
Proceed to the payment step, called Betalen, and open Code invoeren.
Enter the number
Type the gift card number. Watch the digits and, on digital codes, the dashes.
Add the PIN
Physical cadeaukaarten also need a PIN. Enter it only after the card number.
Pay the difference
If the order costs more than the card, pay the rest with another payment method bol offers.
Does bol keep my gift card balance in my account?
Yes. Once a card is linked to a bol account, any remaining value stays in mijn bol for your next order. That value cannot move to another account and is usable only during the card's validity. You can link a card under cadeaukaarten in mijn bol before you shop. The saldochecker shows the balance and how long the card stays valid. Refunds on orders paid by gift card go back to the card first, then to any other method used.
Where can I spend a bol gift card?
Only on www.bol.com, in euros. Some cards, such as the bol Kids cadeaukaart, cover a limited range that bol sets. A gift card cannot buy another bol gift card. It also cannot settle an Achteraf betalen invoice, because cards only pay at the moment you place an order. Within 12 months, one account can link at most €10,000 in bol gift cards. A Dutch bol card and a Belgian one redeem the same way.
What if my bol gift card code is rejected?
Check these causes.
- Typing slip: recheck the numbers and, for digital codes, the dashes.
- PIN order: enter the card number first, then the PIN.
- Expired card: cards last 3 years from purchase; the saldochecker shows the end date.
- Shop card not activated: only the store that sold it can activate it, so return there with the receipt.
- Failed payment: if an order fails after part-payment by gift card, bol credits the amount back automatically within 4 hours.
