Go to airbnb.com/gift on a computer, log in, enter the 19-digit gift card number and the PIN, then click Redeem gift card. Digital cards can also be claimed by tapping the Redeem link in the email or text. The value becomes your Airbnb gift card balance. Redeem an Airbnb gift card step by step
Open the redemption page
On desktop, go to airbnb.com/gift. For a digital card, open the email or text and tap the Redeem link instead; the details are pre-filled.
Log in to the right account
Log in or sign up with the account whose Country of Residence matches the card's country.
Enter number and PIN
Type the 19-digit gift card number and the alphanumeric PIN. On physical cards the PIN is on the back.
Redeem
Click Redeem gift card. The card is deactivated and its full value moves to your gift card balance.
Apply it before you book
At checkout, apply the gift balance before you confirm. Confirmed bookings are final.
Can I add an Airbnb gift card from my account settings?
Yes, on desktop. Click Profile, then Account settings, then Payments. Open Credits and coupons, choose Add gift card, enter the 19-digit number and the PIN, and click Redeem gift card. The same Credits and coupons area shows your remaining balance.
Why won't my Airbnb gift card redeem?
Check these three points first.
- Wrong country of residence: each programme is for residents of its country. US cards need a US resident, outside US territories, with a US-issued payment method. European cards cover 24 listed countries and need a payment method from your country of residence.
- Typing errors: the PIN mixes letters and numbers, so check O against 0 and I against 1.
- Old app: Airbnb recommends the latest app version, especially for digital claim links.
EEA residents can redeem a card issued in another EEA country if they hold a valid payment method from that region.
What can I book once the card is redeemed?
In the US, UK, Mexico and Brazil, gift balances pay for stays, Experiences and Services. In Europe and Switzerland they pay for accommodations only. Gift cards do not cover changes to existing reservations, Damage Report amounts or other gift cards. The balance works with Pay Part Now, Part Later and Reserve Now, Pay Later.

Do Airbnb gift cards expire?
No. Airbnb's terms say gift cards and gift card balances do not expire, and no fees of any kind apply.
Can I move my Airbnb gift balance to another account?
No. Once claimed, the balance is locked to that account and cannot be transferred or cashed out. Share the unclaimed code instead.
What happens to the gift balance if my booking is cancelled?
Any refund the host's cancellation policy allows goes back to your gift card balance on the account.
Can I use more than one Airbnb gift card?
Yes. You can stack several cards on one account and use the balance across several bookings until it runs out.
