It does not claim the entire Walmart programme uses only eight amounts. US and Puerto Rico use is distinct from a Canadian Walmart card

Walmart's national gift-card agreement names eligible Walmart and Sam's Club locations in the United States and Puerto Rico, their apps and the specified US websites. The observed eGift product also notes Sam's Club membership conditions. A recipient who shops at Walmart Canada has a different format question, even when the brand and dollar symbol look familiar. Write USD alongside the chosen amount and identify the intended shopping channel before comparing a price. Country, currency and the receiving merchant service need to describe the same proposed purchase.

A general shopping basket still needs an eligible-item check

The current US terms exclude precious metals, financial products or services and gift cards. A large Walmart catalogue therefore does not mean every item in a mixed basket accepts this balance. For example, a gift intended to contribute toward household goods should not be described as a route for buying a different merchant's prepaid card. Inspect the final basket and payment options before confirming the purchase. A familiar retailer logo on a listing is less precise than the actual product eligibility at checkout. If the recipient wants a particular restricted item, establish a supported payment method for that item instead of accumulating additional Walmart value for an incompatible purpose.

Keep the number and PIN with the original eGift record

The issuer product instructions describe an email containing the gift-card number and PIN. For an eligible online purchase, those details are entered during checkout or saved as a payment option in the intended account. Keep the delivery email and purchase confirmation available, and share the confidential card details only with the intended recipient through an appropriate private channel. A person receiving several gifts should label their records by the actual card value and source rather than guessing from the picture. The code details and a payment-order reference serve different purposes. If the balance or payment result is unexpected, preserve the exact message and original card description before contacting support.

No expiry is a validity finding rather than a future-price promise

The national agreement updated on 24 August 2026 states that gift cards do not expire. That finding does not reserve today's prices for a later shopping trip. An illustrative $100 balance used for an eligible final basket of $72 leaves $28 by arithmetic. Those numbers are a budgeting example, not a measured basket or a quote for goods, tax or delivery. Check the real account or card balance after the transaction. Walmart also explains that a displayed balance can occasionally take time to update. Retaining the receipt makes it easier to distinguish a delayed balance display from a purchase that used another payment method.

Saving cards, combining payment and consolidating value are different actions

The current agreement says multiple gift cards cannot be consolidated into a new gift card. It also mentions saving up to five cards specifically to a Walmart Business account. When several people contribute to one present, keep the separate instruments identifiable and inspect the payment flow that applies to the intended account. Do not promise that the recipient can merge them into one replacement code.

The seller price and the recipient’s basket need separate comparisons

A face value of $50 describes merchant credit. The sender's cost for obtaining it and the recipient's eventual order total are different figures. If the code is bought with cryptocurrency, review the actual asset, network, amount due and sending cost on the real invoice. On the shopping side, let the recipient inspect their final eligible total and the funding options the merchant offers. Avoid promising that a particular card pays for an unspecified delivery or basket merely because the headline product prices appear close to its face value.

Walmart's agreement restricts unauthorized sources and permits redemption by the purchaser or intended recipient. It also prohibits selling or exchanging a card for cash and using gift cards for the business-purpose payments it describes.
