Which Uber Eats card should I buy?

Buy the card for the country where the food is delivered and the account pays: USD for the US, GBP for the UK, EUR for Germany or France, AUD for Australia. An Uber Eats gift card is an Uber gift card: it credits Uber Cash (US) or Uber Money (UK and EEA) in the card's issuing currency, and Uber says that balance can only be spent in countries that take payment in the same currency.

German Eats designs have documented EUR presets

The German commerce source includes an Eats-specific product family as well as general Uber designs. Its country-labelled records show EUR25, EUR50, EUR100 and EUR150 as fixed options. Separate custom products advertise EUR25 to EUR150. We extracted the presets from the public checkout data after filtering its country, currency and product family. Multiple artwork records repeat an amount; they do not create additional denominations. Confirm the exact proposed product and its terms rather than assuming the photograph or Eats logo establishes a special discount.

A code becomes regulated Uber Money

Germany's gift-card agreement identifies Uber B.V. as the code issuer and describes redemption into Uber Money, with the electronic-money product issued by Uber Payments B.V. That account balance can be used through the apps subject to its own rules. Buying a code and adding it to the recipient's account are separate steps. The issuer describes identity-information and KYC prompts during redemption, and may require another payment method. A storefront's policy on information collected for its own checkout cannot remove these Uber requirements. Check that the recipient can use the required account before choosing a gift, particularly when the gift is intended for immediate use.

EUR use has service and territory conditions

The German legal text permits exchange for Uber Money in EEA areas where Uber Money and Uber or Uber Eats are available. The public gift-card guide also restricts use to services charged in the original currency. This is broader than a simple Germany-only slogan, but it is conditional. A recipient planning to travel should check the specific app service and billing currency at the intended destination. Keep the original German purchase context and code terms available when reviewing whether that later use is supported.

Why the expiry answer needs a qualification

The Germany-selected consumer gift-card agreement says three years after the purchase date, subject to applicable mandatory minimum validity. A generic German-language Uber Money help article instead says unredeemed codes expire after one year. We preserve this disagreement rather than presenting either statement as an unconditional guarantee for an unseen code. The national agreement is the jurisdiction-specific source, but the exact offered code still needs its purchase record and applicable terms checked. An email sent to the recipient later does not itself establish when the code was purchased. Confirm that original date and obtain issuer clarification if the promised deadline conflicts with the code documentation.

Code expiry and redeemed account funds differ

The French and German marketing guides describe Uber Money account funds separately from the validity of a gift-card code waiting to be redeemed. Those statements should not be collapsed into a promise that every unredeemed code lasts indefinitely. For an illustrative German code bought in October 2026, a three-year rule would point to an October 2029 anniversary if that exact rule applies. Record the actual purchase date first. Keep any issuer notice with the gift, especially if a distributor held the code before the recipient received it.

Add the code in the recipient’s Wallet

Open the intended Uber or Uber Eats account and enter Wallet. Depending on the app version, the route may be Add Funds, Add payment method, Gift Card or Add Gift Code. Enter the code without spaces and complete the issuer's requested identity steps. The resulting credit belongs to that account and cannot be moved to another recipient after redemption. Senders should therefore give the unredeemed code to the person who will use it. A food gift message can explain that they should select Uber Money at checkout, while leaving the PIN and personal account details out of messages to anybody else.

Check funding before confirming the food order

The German Uber Money help warns against assuming that an insufficient balance can automatically be combined with another payment method for one order. If the basket exceeds the balance, follow the app's instructions to add an additional code or funds, or use another payment method for the order. Review the final total before requesting delivery. A EUR50 face value represents credit rather than a fixed number of meals, and no gift-card fee does not remove charges displayed on the order. The app's actual funding screen is the useful checkpoint for deciding whether the available balance can pay the purchase the recipient is about to confirm.
