Which Google Play card should I buy?

Buy the card for the country set in the recipient's Google Play account, in that country's currency (USD for the US and Puerto Rico, GBP for the UK, EUR for Germany or France). Changing Play country requires living there and a local payment method. Google Play balance is held in the currency of the account's Play country, and a card bought for another country and currency cannot be redeemed there or converted.

Nine dong values range from small contributions to larger credit

The official Vietnamese presets are ₫30,000, ₫50,000, ₫100,000, ₫200,000, ₫300,000, ₫500,000, ₫1,000,000, ₫2,000,000, ₫3,000,000. Thirty thousand and fifty thousand are the two smallest documented choices, followed by one hundred thousand. The list later reaches one, two and three million dong. Compare a proposed contribution with the actual nine amounts. For a large present, ask how the recipient expects to spend the resulting store balance before selecting a million-dong value. The denomination measures local purchasing credit; it does not by itself promise an expensive item, special game edition or particular amount of content.

The Vietnamese terms cover codes and prepaid Play credit

The national document is dated 20 February 2024 and uses gift-code and prepaid-credit terminology. It names Google Arizona LLC as issuer, including where a different name appeared when the code or credit was obtained. Redeemed value is transferred to Google Payment Corp. and held as Play balance in the user’s Payments account. Those details explain the move from an unused code to account credit without suggesting the monetary value changes or that a foreign-country card becomes a Vietnamese product.

Fifteen is the stated Vietnamese eligibility threshold

The read terms permit users aged fifteen or older who reside in Vietnam. For ages fifteen through seventeen, Payments enrolment is restricted to redeeming the gift codes and credit covered by the document. That is a specific local threshold, so the thirteen-year rule from another market should not be substituted when choosing a gift for a younger recipient. The holder also needs internet access and an eligible Payments account for the jurisdiction specified in the terms. Establish the intended receiving identity, rather than redeeming into whichever family account is already signed in. An adult choosing the amount does not remove the stated conditions attached to the eventual recipient.

VND values here are whole dong rather than scaled foreign amounts

Vietnam’s recorded denomination unit has zero fractional digits. The entry value is thirty thousand dong, and the largest is three million; neither figure should be divided by one hundred when comparing it with a product listing. This is particularly useful if a spreadsheet or foreign currency display inserts decimals automatically. Preserve the VND designation and the full numeral so the sender and recipient agree on the actual store value. A displayed dollar or euro estimate is a separate conversion calculation, not another denomination. To judge affordability, compare the gift’s dong amount with the intended item’s own Vietnamese checkout total and any legitimate credit already held by the receiving account.

A short balance has alternatives rather than a universal split promise

If Play balance is insufficient for an item, the Vietnamese limitations describe using a credit or debit card to purchase additional Play credit, redeeming another gift code, or using a different payment method for the purchase. This preserves several routes without claiming every two-method combination works simultaneously. For an eligible purchase hypothetically costing one hundred twenty thousand dong, a one-hundred-thousand gift contributes most of the amount while leaving twenty thousand to address. Check the recipient’s existing balance and actual payment choices before deciding on more credit. A failure at checkout can also concern the item or account, so the numerical shortfall alone does not diagnose every refused transaction.

No variable format is established by the reviewed country row

The Vietnamese table records nine fixed values but supplies no variable endpoints. It cannot support a custom amount selector or a claim that values rise by ten thousand, fifty thousand or any other repeated step.

Eligible purchases exclude certain hardware and subscriptions

The local limitations restrict use to eligible Play items, with certain phones, tablets, related accessories and subscriptions outside the permitted purchases. A smartphone budget is therefore different from a gift intended for an app billed through Play. Even within a game, identify who collects the payment: an external merchant page can have a different relationship from the Play purchase the credit is meant to fund. For recurring content, the actual local subscription billing options need checking. Choosing a large denomination because a service is associated with Android would skip that necessary connection. Establish the eligible transaction first, then select a value that is useful for the recipient’s confirmed purpose.

No-expiry credit still belongs to a defined account relationship

The Vietnamese policy states no fees or expiration dates for its covered codes and prepaid credits. Applicable Play refunds normally return to Play balance under the same terms unless law requires otherwise. The limitations also restrict cash conversion, combining non-Play balances and transfers for value, subject to law. These findings describe store credit that can remain for future eligible use, rather than a general cash reserve. Google’s country guidance further says that redeemed Play balance does not transfer when an account changes country. For someone planning to relocate, consider the intended timing of local spending before adding more VND value. Keep the original code record and confirm the receiving identity before final redemption.

More questions about this card

Can a thirteen-year-old use Vietnam’s national eligibility rule?

The reviewed Vietnamese terms set the threshold at fifteen and restrict ages fifteen through seventeen to gift-code and credit redemption through Payments. A younger threshold from another country does not apply here.

No. The nine recorded presets run from VND 30,000 to VND 3,000,000 and include 200,000 and 300,000, but not 250,000. No variable interval is established for Vietnam here.

Do Vietnamese gift codes expire under the February 2024 terms?

The covered codes and prepaid Play credit have no fees or expiration. Their permitted use remains tied to eligible local account purchases and the stated restrictions.
