Which Google Play card should I buy?

Buy the card for the country set in the recipient's Google Play account, in that country's currency (USD for the US and Puerto Rico, GBP for the UK, EUR for Germany or France). Changing Play country requires living there and a local payment method. Google Play balance is held in the currency of the account's Play country, and a card bought for another country and currency cannot be redeemed there or converted.

Five Colombian peso presets leave deliberate gaps

The documented Colombian choices are COP 10,000, COP 30,000, COP 50,000, COP 100,000, COP 250,000. Ten thousand pesos is the entry value, followed by thirty thousand rather than twenty thousand. The largest listed preset is two hundred fifty thousand. For a planned twenty-thousand-peso contribution, neither the missing amount nor a new intermediate preset should be added to this menu. Ask whether the recipient would prefer the smaller documented contribution or a larger one that leaves more credit after a purchase. Every figure describes a monetary amount for the local account, rather than a particular game edition, bundle or number of subscription months. An issuer’s denomination list establishes the product format; an actual obtainable code still requires confirmation.

June 2025 terms describe both the issuer and redeemed credit

The national document is dated 1 June 2025. It identifies Google Arizona LLC as issuer, including where a different issuer name appeared when the card or credit was obtained. After redemption, the corresponding value passes to the affiliate Google Payment Corp., which holds it as Play balance in the user’s Payments account. This explains why an unused gift and an already credited balance can appear in different parts of the support process. Keep the original purchase record and the intended receiving account information. The two company names do not change the currency to US dollars, and neither name demonstrates that a reseller currently has unused Colombian codes.

A local account matters more than the sender’s language

Choose the product around the recipient’s Colombian Play account, not the language used in the gift message. A Spanish interface can serve several countries, and a dollar sign can stand beside different peso currencies. Google’s country guidance requires the receiving account to match the market where the card is offered, with redemption and spending in that country and currency. In this case the unit is COP. Previously redeemed balance also does not follow an account into another country when its Play country changes. For someone moving abroad, clarify where the intended purchase will take place before selecting more local credit for an existing balance.

An insufficient Colombian balance has stated alternatives

The local limitations describe acquiring additional Play credit with a credit or debit card, loading another gift card, or choosing a different payment method to buy the item. Suppose the recipient’s eligible purchase costs forty thousand pesos and the new gift contributes thirty thousand. First include any existing Play balance, then inspect the payment options presented for that actual item. The ten-thousand-peso difference is a budgeting calculation, not proof that a particular bank card will complete it. Checking the cause of a refusal is preferable to assuming another code will solve every payment problem.

Google also publishes a Colombian variable interval running from ten thousand to nine hundred ninety thousand pesos. That row supplies endpoints but no permitted step. Keep this separate from the five named fixed presets. If a proposed listing claims a custom value, inspect its exact amount and format before treating it as interchangeable with a documented fixed card. The country table alone cannot settle its present distribution or stock.

Eligible content has device and subscription exclusions

Colombian gift-card and prepaid-credit value funds qualifying Google Play items. The local text excludes certain device hardware, with phones, tablets and related accessories given as examples, and some subscriptions. Identify the intended local item and its billing screen before selecting enough credit for the whole cost. Likewise, a Google-associated device is not eligible merely because it runs Android. This helps distinguish a gift intended for digital store content from a general electronics budget, while avoiding a promise that every subscription can be bought with the peso balance.

No expiry preserves credit without turning it into cash

Section three states that the covered Colombian cards and prepaid credits have no fees or expiration dates. Applicable Play refunds ordinarily return to Play balance for later use unless law provides otherwise. The limitations separately restrict cash conversion, reloading, refunds and transfers for value, subject to applicable law. Keep those different rules together: time to choose an eligible purchase does not create an unrestricted cash withdrawal. The terms also say the account operator may give purchasers redemption-status information. That concerns the gift’s claim status, rather than a promise that a sender can control a recipient’s spending or retrieve an already redeemed balance.
