Which Deliveroo card should I buy?

Buy the card for the country where the food is delivered and the Deliveroo account is used: GBP for the UK, EUR for France, Belgium or Italy, AED for the UAE, KWD for Kuwait. A Deliveroo gift card is loaded as credit on a Deliveroo account of the card's own country site, in that market's currency, and once credited it cannot be refunded or moved to another account.

The Italian Work FAQ says an individual gift can have an amount between five and three hundred euros. It links to an Italian-language European gift shop, but that page returned no readable retail amount menu. The same FAQ discusses a three-hundred-euro bulk-order threshold and suggested company meal budgets; those should not become ordinary card amounts. A giver can decide how much they wish to contribute without treating that wish as proof of supply. First identify the genuine gift format and exact offer. The company-funded allowance, a personal gift and a selected price label answer different questions about how the recipient receives value.

The Italian contract requires a disclosed expiry date rather than a universal term

The gift section of the Italian legal page is updated first May 2025. It says the expiry is communicated before purchase and appears on the gift or delivery email, and that credit must be used before that date. It does not give every ordinary gift a universal numeric lifetime. The Work FAQ separately states a twelve-month purchase fallback if no email date is specified. Preserve that conditional statement without using it to replace a date actually disclosed for the card. An old message with a clear expiry should consequently not gain another twelve months when loaded. The page's other sections have different update dates, so their newer headings should not be used to restamp the gift clause or imply a new activation event for existing value.

The documented Italian route credits one account’s Credito e Voucher

Italian gift terms explicitly cover products through Deliveroo's application or website in Italy. They describe entering the genuine unique code during an order or in the Credito e Voucher account area, where an amount equal to the gift value is added. Once credited, it cannot be transferred to another Deliveroo account. The Work FAQ says an individual gift does not require a Work account, so a colleague can use a personal one. That statement does not create general cross-border permission or an account-to-account transfer feature. The code and its original message need to remain accessible to the person who will use that balance under the Italian terms.

Ordinary credit cannot fund Plus or circulate into a new gift card

The legal gift clause prohibits using ordinary value for subscriptions, including Deliveroo Plus, or to buy another gift card. It also prohibits reloads, cash conversion, resale or transfer, and combination with promotional codes or promotional vouchers. These restrictions make the nature of the message important: a monetary gift, a promotional reduction and a membership benefit are not interchangeable because all can appear near checkout. For a present intended to cover an item order, identify the ordinary Italian gift rather than assume any Deliveroo-branded credential supplies that entitlement. The readable sources establish the stated exclusions without demonstrating what this service is authorised to distribute.

Split payment changes what is spent without extending the date

If an eligible Italian order exceeds the account's gift credit, the terms require another accepted method registered on the service for the remainder and exclude combining credit with cash payment. If the order costs less, remaining value can be used for future orders. Consider a hypothetical existing €80 balance and an eligible €33 order: the remaining credit would be €47. A later €60 order would then need €13 through another accepted method if all €47 were applied. Those figures illustrate the balance calculation rather than advertised food prices or confirmed card denominations. The ability to make a second purchase remains subject to the original disclosed expiry.

Consumer withdrawal concerns an unused gift purchase

Italian terms give consumers fourteen days from receipt to withdraw from the gift purchase only if use has not started. They also say cards already redeemed are not refunded. Purchases by businesses or other non-consumers are described differently and are non-refundable. Keep the original purchase and receipt details when deciding whether to seek cancellation, and distinguish that decision from making a first item order with the gift. A request concerning an unused code should not be described as a right to cash out a partially spent account balance. Cancelled orders restore credit, while loss has a separate consequence

When an order funded with gift credit is cancelled or qualifies for a refund, the Italian gift terms return the payment as credit without monetary exchange. The Italian paragraph does not expressly describe the validity of restored credit; the French clause explicitly retains the original validity. Neither supplies a basis to promise a fresh term. Preserve the original disclosed date when checking a restored balance and ask about the actual case if time is short. The gift's loss rules are also separate: after delivery, the terms decline replacement or reimbursement for lost, stolen, damaged, destroyed or unauthorised use, subject to applicable law. An order receipt can help describe what happened but is not a guarantee that missing value will be reconstructed. Track the actual refund and remaining balance without counting both as additional money.
