Which Battle.net card currency do I need?
Buy the card in the currency your Battle.net Shop shows. Blizzard says a balance card claims only when its currency matches the Shop currency, which follows the Country of Residence in your account settings. A US account needs dollars, a German account euros and a UK account pounds. Since 23 January 2025, euro POSA cards no longer redeem directly on Czech, Polish or Swiss accounts.
Can I use US Battle.net balance in the European shop?
No. Blizzard says your balance currency must match the currency displayed in the Shop. Its own example: a dollar balance cannot be used in the European Battle.net Shop, which charges in euros. If you have permanently moved, update your country details first; a card in the new currency may then claim. Blizzard adds that you can switch the Shop region with the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.
What does Battle.net Balance pay for?
Battle.net Balance pays for most games and services in the Battle.net Shop, including WoW Game Time. It cannot pay World of Warcraft subscriptions, the Blizzard Gear Store, or console and mobile app stores. You can gift balance to a friend or combine it with another payment method at checkout. The cap is $350, €250 or £200 with an Authenticator linked.
How do I redeem a Battle.net balance code?
Log in to your Account Overview, type the code in the Redeem a Code box and click Redeem Code. In the desktop app, click your profile icon and choose Redeem Code. In the mobile app, tap your BattleTag, then Redeem Code. Each code works once and cannot be traded or gifted after redemption. Some balance codes bought in a shop must be activated by the cashier before they work.
Where do Battle.net codes work?
Euro balance cards cannot be redeemed directly on Swiss Battle.net accounts after 23 January 2025; contact Blizzard customer service to redeem one bought there for local currency.
