How to redeem a Primark eGift card

Can I use a Primark eGift card online?

Primark sets its eGift card up as an in-store payment. Its FAQ says the card is spent in-store by presenting it at the till, either on a mobile device or printed out. Primark's US launch page likewise describes full or partial payments in store, for any of its products.

Track what is left at any Primark till or with the online balance checker, which also shows the expiry date.

Where does my Primark card work, and when does it expire?

Only in its home country. Sterling cards work in any Primark store in the UK and Northern Ireland, and US dollar cards in US stores only. A card bought for Germany, Spain, Austria or Belgium redeems only in that country's stores.

The expiry clock restarts with every use or balance enquiry. UK cards expire 24 months after the last use or enquiry, German cards after 4 years. US card balances never expire. Once a card lapses, Primark deducts the remaining balance.

What if my Primark eGift card does not work?

Check these points at the till.

• Wrong country: a French card will not work in a German store, and sterling cards are refused outside the UK and Northern Ireland.
• Lapsed card: confirm the expiry date on the balance checker before your trip.
• Damaged printout: Primark refuses cards that are defaced, altered or cancelled, so bring a clean print or the on-screen code.
• Lost code: Primark is not liable for activated cards that are lost or stolen.
