What do Netflix gift card errors mean?
"The code you entered has already been used" usually means the card was redeemed on an account; check the Payment History or Membership page. "The code entered is not valid" can mean a typo, or a card the merchant has not activated yet, so wait 24 hours. "The gift code does not match the country" means the card's currency differs from your billing currency. "You reached the maximum gift balance allowed per account" means no more cards can be added for now. If the code is scratched or unreadable, contact Netflix. Can I redeem if I pay through Apple or a package?
Not while you are billed through Apple: cancel, wait until the account closes, then restart with the gift card. With a Netflix-included package, save the card until the account is no longer linked, or use it on another account. Extra member accounts cannot redeem gift codes; create your own account instead. Other third-party billing accepts gift cards.
How does Netflix use the gift balance?
Netflix takes each monthly payment from the gift balance. Several cards are used one at a time, in the order you redeemed them. Changing plans changes how fast the balance is used. If your account is on hold, redeeming a card releases the hold within 60 minutes.
