Redeem a Kinguin code step by step
Sign in first
Log in to your Kinguin customer account. The redeem page asks you to sign in before using the card.
Add the code
Go to kinguin.net/redeem, enter the gift card code and confirm. Your Kinguin Balance goes up by the card value.
Pick your products
Choose a game, key or software and press 'Buy Now' to reach the Checkout page.
Move the balance slider
Use the Kinguin Balance slider on the right, below the order totals. The price updates as you slide.
Place the order
If the balance covers everything, select Kinguin Balance as the method and press 'Place order'. Otherwise finish with another method.
How does Kinguin Balance work at checkout?
Kinguin Balance is the store's own currency, and paying with it adds no payment fee. You decide how much to spend with the slider, so a €50 card can cover part of one order and the rest of another.
Kinguin suggests keeping Euro selected as the shop currency for the balance to work properly. If the price does not change, apply an amount 0.01 Euro below your current balance.
If the main payment fails after you used balance, the spent amount should return automatically.
Which accounts and limits apply?
Any regular Kinguin customer account can redeem. Kinguin gift cards cannot be used on merchant, wholesale or API ESA accounts.
Two time rules matter. Redeem the code within 365 days of purchase. And the daily ceiling for adding balance is €500, so a stack of cards may need to be spread over two days.
What if my Kinguin code will not redeem?
Go through these causes.
- Signed out: the redeem page only works on a logged-in account.
- Daily cap reached: wait until the next day once €500 has been added.
- Business account: merchant, wholesale and API ESA accounts are excluded.
- Balance not returned: after a failed payment, raise it with Kinguin.
