Quick answer
Go to play.google.com/redeem on a computer, or open the Google Play app and tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Redeem code. Enter the code, tap Redeem and confirm the account. The value becomes Google Play balance in your account's currency. It only works if your Google Play country matches the country where the card was sold.
Redeem a Google Play code step by step
Check your Play country
Make sure your Google Play country matches the card. A US card needs a US account, a German card a German account.
Open the redeem screen
On a computer, go to play.google.com/redeem. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Redeem code.
Enter the code
Type the code without spaces or dashes. Codes are typically 16 letters and numbers, though some digital codes have a different length.
Redeem and confirm
Tap Redeem, review the account that will receive the balance, then tap Confirm.
Or redeem at checkout
During a purchase, open the arrow next to the payment method, choose Redeem code and follow the on-screen steps.
Why does Google Play say the code only works in another country?
Google Play gift cards are geo-restricted. They can only be redeemed in the country where they were purchased, and the card currency must match your Play currency. The error reads "Couldn't redeem this code. This code can only be used in [country/region]."
If you moved, you can change your Google Play country. Google requires you to be in the new country and to have a payment method from there. You then wait at least 90 days before changing again. Balance redeemed in the old country stays in that country. For a gift, buy the card that matches the recipient's account country.
What if the code was already redeemed or is not valid?
"There is a problem with that code" usually means a typo. Enter the code manually, with no spaces or dashes. If it still fails, Google asks you to confirm with the retailer that the card was activated.
"The code you entered has already been redeemed on a different account" means another Google account used it. Sign in to each account you own and ask family members. Google will not reveal the other account.
"You have reached your redemption limit" means you hit the Google Play balance limit. Spend some balance, wait 24 hours and retry.
"We need more information to redeem your gift card" is a check. Submit Google's form with the documents it requests.
Frequently asked questions
Does Google Play balance expire?
No, in most countries. Google's card terms for the US, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India, Japan and South Korea state no fees and no expiry. Australian card value expires five years after issue or last account activity.
Can I move Google Play balance to another account?
No. Google says gift cards and prepaid Play balance are not refundable or transferable unless the law requires it.
Can a family group pay with my gift card balance?
No. Google Play gift cards are not eligible as a family payment method, so the family manager needs a credit or debit card.
When do I receive a Google Play code from Gifts With Crypto?
Your code appears in your client area within 24 hours of payment confirmation. Pay with BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL or LTC, with no KYC up to US$1,000 per order.
