Pick eligible items
Leave out excluded lines. Taiwan's digital voucher cannot buy tobacco, game point cards or certain consigned products.
Pay at the counter
Hand over the Hong Kong cash voucher, or show the barcode of the Taiwan digital voucher, when the cashier totals the sale.
Cover any gap
In Taiwan, pay a shortfall with cash or another accepted method. The digital voucher keeps its remaining balance for next time.
Check what is left
A Taiwan receipt prints the remaining balance at the bottom left. The OPEN POINT app shows it too once the voucher is saved in its wallet.
Does a Hong Kong 7-Eleven voucher work in Macau?
Yes. 7-Eleven Hong Kong says its cash vouchers can be used in all its stores in Hong Kong and Macau. It issues them in HK$20, HK$50 and HK$100 values and sells them through its business sales team.
The vouchers do not travel to other 7-Eleven markets. Taiwan issues its own vouchers under separate terms, so buy the version for the place where it will be spent. A Hong Kong voucher will not pay in Taipei.
How do Taiwan's 7-ELEVEN digital vouchers work?
Like a stored balance with no deadline. 7-ELEVEN Taiwan's terms say the digital voucher has no usage period and can be spent over several visits. Several vouchers can also be used together in one purchase.
Three limits apply. The voucher cannot be topped up, balances from different vouchers cannot be merged into one, and nothing is paid out in cash. Returns go back onto the voucher, and you need its barcode plus the transaction record. Partner brands such as COSMED and Starbucks accept it too, with some branch exceptions.
Why is my 7-Eleven voucher refused?
Usually for one of four reasons.
- Wrong market: Hong Kong vouchers work only in Hong Kong and Macau stores.
- Excluded item: Taiwan's digital voucher cannot pay for tobacco, game point cards, express delivery services or other consigned goods.
- Empty or locked voucher: 7-ELEVEN Taiwan names a zero balance or an abnormal lock. For a lock, call its ibon helpline on 0800-016-138.
- Unreadable barcode: Taiwan vouchers are bearer vouchers, so a lost voucher or a broken phone cannot be reported, refunded or replaced.
