Validity
Credit expires five years after activation, unless a shorter expiry is stated on the card or its carrier. The online physical activation/shipping periods are separate from that validity clock.

How to redeem
- Present the activated Swiss card or PDF at an eligible Swiss Lidl till, either as a physical document or on the mobile screen.
- Check the applied amount and retain the remaining-value credential and activation receipt. Do not use it to acquire other gift cards or expect a cash remainder.
Store and online limits do not create one digital sequence
The Swiss issuer product separates acquisition at a branch from acquisition through the online shop. Both begin at five Swiss francs, but the store ceiling is much higher. That distinction prevents a three-thousand-franc maximum from becoming an assumed electronic order choice.
The expiry rule has an express card-level exception
The ordinary Swiss terms set a five-year period beginning with activation, then state that a shorter expiry printed on the card or its carrier prevails where applicable. The exception is part of the published policy and cannot be removed by a general five-year headline. Someone holding a particular gift should retain its accompanying information as well as the balance credential. The physical carrier can therefore answer a question that a generic website summary cannot. Neither the first merchandise purchase nor a later partial payment is described as restarting the stated activation-based period.
The till receipt proves a different event from delivery
For the issuer’s online process, an emailed PDF is immediately usable when delivered, while a physical card has the separate stated activation and postal periods. The terms mention activation within forty-eight hours after payment and postal arrival in two to six days for that physical channel.
The Swiss product page states that the gift can pay in Swiss Lidl stores. The terms allow presenting the card or PDF physically or on a mobile screen, with multiple purchases possible until the balance is used. Check the actual payment allocation and retain the remaining-value credential for a later shopping trip.
Personal transferability does not permit commercial dealing
The Swiss terms describe the card as non-personal and freely transferable, then expressly prohibit commercial trading in gift cards. Those clauses concern different activities and should be kept together. Consequently, the national facts, an amount within the printed bounds and even possession of an unused credential would leave the distribution question unresolved.
Gift-card purchases are excluded from several other uses
The terms exclude exchanging the balance for cash, converting a remainder into another gift and buying gift cards with gift cards. They also say that acquiring the card does not combine with promotions or count toward promotional minimum spending. These are distinct restrictions: a store carrying third-party gifts does not necessarily let this closed-loop balance pay for them, and buying a large gift does not automatically qualify a shopper for a grocery promotion.
Keeping the credential matters when a problem arises
The ordinary Swiss terms do not promise replacement for lost, damaged or stolen cards and require presentation of the card for claims relating to it. A screenshot of a product page proves the published programme description, whereas an activation receipt relates to the individual gift. The two have different evidential roles. No public policy page can demonstrate that a credential from an unknown channel is unused or restore value after another holder has already spent it.
